Fall Acting Classes for ages 13-17

Fall Acting Classes in Calgary for Youth and Teens ages 13-17

The word autumn comes from the ancient Etruscan root autu- and has within it connotations of the passing of the year. Autumn marks a transition in seasons where many people turn inward, both physically and mentally. Since it is the season of the primary harvest, what better way to celebrate the autumn than to harvest the bounty of riches within?

Where something ends, there is a new beginning. Theatre A Go-Go offers the tools to write the chapter of new beginnings as active participants express themselves with confidence, through fun Acting Classes. Register your loved one(s) and celebrate the bounty of riches within!

This fall, it’s all about believing in yourself and expressing different Theatre Arts styles. Whether you would love to re-connect to your expressive powers, or learn about Auditioning or Commedia dell’ Arte, we have the Acting/Theatre Arts Classes to suit your fancy! WHAT: ANDROCLES AND THE LION - Imagine the zany world of Italy and a physical style of Theatre called Commedia dell’Arte and Ancient Greece where the nature of the world is explained through myths. In a series of fun-filled Acting classes, players will begin with self-development drama activities in order to expand their vocal and body expressive tools. With this enriched self-awareness they will then develop their communication skills through Improvisation, Mask Play, Storytelling, and Physical Theatre techniques. On the last day of classes players will share their Theatre and Performing Arts skills with confidence, by presenting an adaptation of the Greek Fable, “Androcles and the Lion”, through the Commedia dell’Arte. This 8 week program is designed for students with some drama class experience who are looking to audition for a theatre company. These classes will focus on finding/developing a monologue as well as theatre audition skills. The three basic areas covered are:

THE CHOICE - how and where to find appropriate material that is well-suited to you, regarding your personal uniqueness and cast ability.

THE WORKSHOP – explore Physical Theatre techniques to effectively mount and execute the choice to best demonstrate your skills.
