Fall Drama Classes in Calgary for Homeschoolers ages 7-14

This Autumn at Theatre A Go-Go Calgary, it’s all about new beginnings, believing in yourself, and the Magical world of Fractured Fairy Tales. We’re proud to present our exciting Curriculum Integrated Drama/Theatre Arts Classes. Join us, meet new friends and have fun while gaining confidence in physical, emotional and verbal literacy!

Register for two Drama classes, by Sept. 4, and receive a further $30/player off each class.

WHO: Homeschoolers, ages 7-10

WHAT: ADVENTURES WITH TWISTED TALES - Imagine the wild and wacky world of far, far away and long, long ago; where unexpected relationships, plots, and journeys ensue as Animal characters transform the known land of Fairy Tales. In a series of fun-filled drama classes, players will begin by reading several Fractured Fairy Tales and pick the one they would like to PLAY with. Through Drama activities players will expand their vocal and body expressive skills. With this enriched self-awareness, players will then explore Theatre, Mask making and application, and Performing Arts techniques, in order to develop their character and communication skills. On the last day of classes players will share their character and story, with confidence. This Celebration of Learning presentation is for friends, family and anyone who would like to see how we play. These classes are connected to the Alberta Education Language Arts and Drama curriculum, and include studies in: Mask making and application, storytelling, team building, presentation, problem solving, creativity, vocal and body training, and public speaking skills.

WHEN: Mondays, 9:30am – 12:00pm from Sept. 25 – Dec. 18, 2017(no class Oct. 9)

INVESTMENT: Discount = $270/player, if registered by Sept. 4 or for members of: the same family or Parkdale Community

Regular = $300/player

Investment includes: Mask Making supplies and 12 classes x 2 1/2 hours/class plus 2 hours for dress rehearsal and performance at the end of the program = 32 hours. (Costumes, props and set supplied by Theatre A Go-Go)

WHERE: At the Parkdale Community Centre (3512 - 5 Ave. N.W.)

 

WHO: Homeschoolers, ages 10-14

WHAT: OUT OF THE WOODS - Imagine a wild and wacky wood where a variety of Fairy Tale characters meet. With a little magical help and by working together, the unexpected friends journey to save their woods. In a series of fun-filled drama classes, players will begin with self-development drama games and expand their vocal and body expressive skills. With this enriched self-awareness, players will then explore Theatre, Mask making and application, and Performing Arts techniques, in order to develop their character and communication skills. On the last day of camp, they will, with confidence, present an adaptation of the Fairy Tale, “Into the Woods”. This Celebration of Learning presentation is for friends, family and anyone who would like to see how we play. These classes are connected to the Alberta Education Language Arts and Drama curriculum, and include studies in: Mask making and application, storytelling, team building, presentation, problem solving, creativity, vocal and body training, and public speaking skills.

WHEN: Mondays, 12:15 – 3:15pm from Sept. 25 – Dec. 18, 2017(no class Oct. 9)
