Spring Acting Classes in Calgary for Youth, ages 13-17

This Spring , it’s all about the laughter, new beginnings and believing in yourself at Theatre A Go-Go. We’re proud to present our exciting line up of Spring Acting/Theatre Arts Classes. Join us, meet new friends and have fun while improving physical, emotional and verbal literacy!

Spring is the time of growth and renewal and can be symbolic of starting new projects, sewing new seeds and coming forth with new ideas. As we step in to spring time, embrace the warm fresh air and give ourselves a fresh clean slate, take this spring season as a chance to participate in new beginnings.

Theatre A Go-Go offers the tools to write the chapter of new beginnings as active participants express themselves with confidence; through fun Spring Acting/Theatre Arts Classes. Register your loved one(s) this Spring and be refreshed as they prepare for their soulful debut!

WHO: Ages 13-17(grades 8-12)

WHAT: SLAPSTICK COMEDY -Imagine the turn of the century where vaudeville and slapstick humour are the most popular forms of variety entertainment. In a series of fun-filled drama classes, players will learn about the history and characters that have been part of creating our culture for hundreds of years. Players will begin with self-development drama activities and with an enriched body, and vocal vocabulary, will explore the strategies and techniques that actors use for creating slapstick Comedy such as: the trip, Juggling and Magic. Players will create their own comedy characters and scenario and develop their Theatre Arts and communication skills. At the end of the program players will present, with confidence, their own characters and comedy scenes, for friends, family and anyone that would like to see how we play.

WHEN: Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30pm from April 5 – May 24, 2017

INVESTMENT: Discount if registered by March 27 or for members of: the same family or Parkdale Community= $215/player

Regular = $245/player

Please note that if you pay with Credit Card, you will be charged an extra $10 service fee, per registration. Investment includes: 8 classes x 2 hours/class plus 1 hour for dress rehearsal and performance at the end of the program = 17 hours. (Costumes, props and set supplied by Theatre A Go-Go)
