Spring can be symbolic of starting new projects, sewing new seeds and coming forth with new ideas. WHO: Ages 12-17 (Grades 7-12)

WHAT: SLAPSTICK COMEDY - Imagine the turn of the century where vaudeville and slapstick humour are the most popular forms of variety entertainment. In a series of fun-filled acting classes, players will learn about the history and Comedy characters that have been part of creating our culture for hundreds of years. Players will begin with self-development drama activities enriching their body, and vocal vocabulary. They will explore the strategies and techniques that actors use for creating slapstick Comedy such as: the Trip, the Stuck, and Juggling or Magic. Players will create their own comedy character, a scenario with a partner, and develop their Theatre Arts and communication skills. At the end of the program players will present, with confidence, their own characters and comedy scenes, for friends, family and anyone that would like to see how we play.

WHEN: Tuesdays, 5:30-8:30pm from April 10-June 5, 2018 (From 5:00-9:00pm on June 5)

INVESTMENT: Discount = $250/player, if registered by March 23, or for members of: the same family or Parkdale Community or Regular = $280/player

Investment includes: 9 classes x 3 hours/class plus 1 hours for dress rehearsal and performance at the end of the program = 28 hours. (Costumes, Props and Set supplied by Theatre A Go-Go)

WHERE: At the Parkdale Community Centre (3512 - 5 Ave. N.W.)

 

WHO: Ages 12-17 (Grades 7-12)

WHAT: IMPROVISATION - imagine your world enriched with more spontaneity; where you explore your sense of wonder, creativity and intuition; express yourself with more confidence; and play to develop your on and offstage skills. These classes are for the individual who wants to improve the spontaneity in their life through improvisation. Players will begin with self-development Improvisation activities enriching their body, and vocal vocabulary. With this enriched self-awareness, they will explore Improv techniques such as: TheatreSports, Character development and Storytelling, developing their Theatre Arts and communication skills. At the end of the program players will present, with confidence, Improv activities that have been taught throughout the class. This presentation is for friends, family and anyone that would like to see how we play.

WHEN: Wednesdays, 6:00-8:30pm from April 11-May 30, 2018 (From 5:30-9:00pm on May 30)

INVESTMENT: Discount = $230/player, if registered by March 23, or for members of: the same family or Parkdale Community or Regular = $260/player

Investment includes: 8 classes x 2.5 hours/class plus 1 hours for dress rehearsal and performance at the end of the program = 21 hours. (Costumes, Props and Set supplied by Theatre A Go-Go)
