Spring Acting Classes for ages 13-17

Spring Acting/Theatre Arts Classes in Calgary for Teens ages 13-17

Registration is now open.

And spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
and each flower and herb on Earth’s dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest. ~ Percy Bysshe Shelley

As each season sets the stage for the next; nature is very skilled and accepting of the “what is” and using it to unfold the “what can be.”

As the earth reawakens from her slumber, and explodes with new life, our lives transform to ideas of rejuvenation, renewal, and regrowth. As spring is the time of growth it can be symbolic of starting new projects, sewing new seeds and coming forth with new ideas.

Theatre A Go-Go offers the tools to write the chapter of new beginnings as active participants express themselves with confidence through Acting Classes. As we transition in to this season of “What can be", register your loved one(s) and be refreshed as they meet new friends and have fun while gaining confidence in physical, emotional and verbal literacy!

This spring at Theatre A Go-Go, it’s all about the new beginnings, believing in yourself, and the world of The Commedia dell’Arte. Whether your loved one/s want to expand their expressive powers, or explore the Theatrical world of The Commedia, we have the Acting Classes to suit your fancy!

Register today and fling into spring with Theatre A Go-Go’s Acting Classes; where the Early Birds get the discount! Early Bird discount ends on Monday Mar. 16 @ 6:00pm. Save $$ by registering today.

WHO: Ages 13-17

WHAT: THE ART OF THE COMMEDIA DELL’ARTE - Imagine the market places of Italy in the 1520’s where Zanni characters wearing half masks improvised and dominated European Theatre. The Commedia dell’Arte has been and always will be the first of the arts of the theatre. Nowadays we draw from its history to maintain its presence in modern Physical Theatre and Improvisation. Players will explore the basic techniques actors use in creating Commedia dell’ Arte: Improvisation, Slapstick Comedy, status, and Masked Characterization. Discover the walks, gestures and voices of 6 of the stock characters. Expressing one of the characters and using a plot outline, players will improvise a Scenario with a partner. Discover why Commedia dell’Arte is one of the most important sources of storytelling, Comedy and Physical Theatre styles.
