Meet our Calgary Drama Instructors

tanya2 Tanya Lukenoff - Artistic Director/Instructor
Salutations! My name is Tanya and I am a performer, and an instructor who specializes in mask making and application of those masks, through various classical theatre styles. My research has taken me throughout Europe, studying with master mask makers and physical theatre practitioners. I founded Theatre A Go-Go, as a performance based Physical Theatre Company that uses the styles and techniques of Physical Theatre to create its work. The educational component of Theatre A Go-Go was established to inspire all ages to explore and express, with confidence, through Physical Theatre and Performing Arts. I continue to collaborate with various individuals and organizations to IMAGINE - EXPLORE – EXPRESS – PLAY

Alicia Ward – Choreographer/Instructor
Hello! My name is Alicia Ward. I am a multidisciplinary artist centered in Calgary who graduated from the University of Calgary’s Drama Department. I focused my studies on how drama and dance can be layered together in honest performance. I love creating art collaboratively with a community of people. My recent projects have been Black Sheep (The Common Ground Festival), Pistachio Crumble (Fringe), Hazardous Love (DeFakto Theatre), Hole (University of Calgary) as well as my ongoing projects The Giving Stories, One Body and St-St-Stories. I have recently finished a very informative year as an intern for Theatre Junction and am now continuing my dance training at Decidedly Jazz Dancework's Professional Training Program. I am working with Swallow A Bicycle Theatre here in Calgary as well as creating my own work at different festivals and cabarets throughout the year. My true passion will always be the sharing of knowledge, especially through teaching the inspiring young players at Theatre A Go Go!
