As each season sets the stage for the next; nature is very skilled and accepting of the “what is” and using it to unfold the “what can be.” Winter is the season of introversion and contemplation, as it brings many changes to the world, and provides the setting for renewal.

Theatre A Go-Go offers the tools for active participants to express themselves with confidence through fun Drama Classes! As we transition in to this season of “What can be”, register your loved one(s) for Drama/Theatre Art Classes. Provide the setting for renewal where they can meet new friends and have fun while gaining confidence in physical, emotional and verbal literacy!

NEW WEDNESDAY EVENING DRAMA CLASSES

WHO: Ages 11 - 15

WHAT: ANDROCLES AND THE LION – Imagine Greece in the 6th Century where a Greek Storyteller named Aesop wrote Fables characterized by animals with human characteristics and who explained the world through morals or lessons. Now imagine the zany world of Italy and a physical style of Theatre called Commedia dell’Arte. In a series of fun-filled drama classes, players will begin with self-development drama activities in order to expand their vocal and body expressive tools. Players will then learn Storytelling, Mask Play and Physical Theatre techniques, in order to develop their communication skills. With a new sense of body and vocal confidence, players will express their character and the style of Theatre by presenting an adaptation of the Greek Fable, “Androcles and the Lion” on the last day of the Program. This Celebration of Learning is for friends, family and anyone who would like to see how we play.

WHEN: Wednesdays, 6:00 - 8:00pm from Jan. 8 - March 11, 2020 (From 5:30-9pm on Mar. 11)

INVESTMENT: Discount = $245/player, if registered by Dec. 20, or for members of: the same family or Parkdale Community or Regular = $275/player

FRIDAY AFTERNOON DRAMA CLASSES

WHO: Ages 7 - 14

WHAT: ADVENTURES WITH AWESOME AESOP - Imagine Greece in the 6th Century where a Greek Storyteller named Aesop wrote Fables characterized by animals with human characteristics and who explained the world through morals or lessons. In a series of fun-filled drama classes, players will begin with self-development drama activities in order to expand their vocal and body expressive tools. With this enriched self-awareness and in groups, they will then advance their teamwork skills by reading various Animal Fables and choose one to bring to life. Players will then learn Storytelling, and Performing Arts techniques, in order to develop their communication skills. With a new sense of body and vocal confidence, players will express their character and the style of Theatre by presenting an Aesop Fable on the last day of the Program. This Celebration of Learning is for friends, family and anyone who would like to see how we play.

WHEN: Fridays, 1:00-4pm from Jan. 10 - March 13, 2020 (no class Feb. 14 & from 12 until 6pm on Mar. 13) Pre care available from 12-1pm and post care available from 4-5pm, for an additional fee.
