OVERVIEW

Salutations Drama Queens, Kings and Royal Families,

In these uncertain times, there is one thing that we are certain of and that is the importance of safety for all. We are hoping this document can help guide everyone who participates in Theatre activities with Theatre A Go-Go to understand how we can mitigate the risk of transmission and ensure that our relaunch is sustainable.

This document has been developed in conjunction with the most recent guidance documents as provided by Alberta Health Services (AHS).

Starting September 16, 2021 Theatre A Go-Go will follow capacity and operating restrictions put forward by Alberta.ca and as outlined below.

Sport, fitness, recreation and performance activities

Youth (under 18) sport, fitness, recreation and performance activities (Sept 16)

Indoor group classes, training, and competitions are permitted, but participants are required to:

  • screen for symptoms
  • maintain 2 metres distancing, except youth while engaged in physical activity
  • wear a mask, except youth while engaged in physical activity
  • Spectator attendance is restricted to 1/3 fire code capacity, attendees are limited to a single household or 2 close contact if living alone and must be masked and maintain 2 metres physical distancing.
  • Outdoor activities can continue with no restrictions.

STUDENT AND FAMILY EXPECTATIONS:

  • Become familiar with the guidance documents listed above and read the Welcome email, prior to the commencement of the Classes.
  • Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 or with close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days must not attend the Classes and inform Theatre A Go-Go, ASAP.
  • Students are required to bring a mask and wear it at all times unless taking part in physical activity or outside.
  • One Parent/Guardian only is asked to drop their child off no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start of Classes. Parents are also asked to pick their child promptly at the end of the Classes.
  • Drop off and pick up will take place inside the front door of the Community Centre, with students to be signed in and out.
  • Upon arrival, students will sanitize and have their temperature taken.
  • Parents/Guardians will be asked to reply to the questions, on behalf of their child, from the COVID-19 Alberta Health daily checklist.
  • Students will then place their personal belongings in a space labelled with their name.
  • There will be no sharing of items between participants. This includes pens, props, food, chairs, costumes, etc.
  • In order to minimize paper transference a Parent/Guardian is required to sign, scan and return via email the last page of this document and the Photo/Video Release form. This must be done prior to the commencement of the Classes to endure participation. If this is not possible, please notify Theatre A Go Go.
  • If any portion of the Class activities can take place outside, we will use the park space beside the building.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THEATRE A GO-GO:

  • To comply with the recent temporary measures and any other applicable Alberta Health Guidelines.
  • To prevent the risk of transmission by practicing high levels of sanitation, personal hygiene and respiratory etiquette. High contact areas will be disinfected before and after each Class. Hand sanitizer and facial tissue will be made widely available.
  • Whenever possible, physical distancing will be maintained. If distancing is not possible, then masks will be worn, especially when working in groups.
  • Upon arrival, Theatre A Go-Go staff will take students’ temperature. Any student exhibiting any symptoms or temperatures above normal may not be able to enter and participate.
  • All Instructors will also be subject to the COVID-19 self-screening tool prior to the commencement of each Class and will supply their own masks. These masks will be worn when the two metre distancing is not possible.
  • If anyone develops symptoms, staff will provide procedures for rapid response by isolating the individual. Staff will then notify a Parent/Guardian to pick up their child immediately. Following the isolation, Staff will ensure that all high contact areas are cleaned and ensure that all are notified of the incident.
  • If any portion of the Class activities can take place outside, we will use the park space beside the building.

Thank you for your understanding and compliance in these times. We appreciate your support as we move forward safely. Theatre A Go-Go is thrilled to be able to present this Drama Class in person and excited to see you all.

Play safe!

Artistically yours,

Tanya
