“And spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
and each flower and herb on Earth’s dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.” ~ Percy Bysshe Shelley

As each season sets the stage for the next; nature is very skilled and accepting of “what is” and using it to unfold “what can be.” As the earth reawakens with new life this spring, our lives may transform to ideas of renewal.

As we transition into this season of “What can be”, register your loved one(s) for spring Acting/Theatre Arts Classes. Provide the safe setting for renewal where they can meet new friends and have fun while gaining confidence in physical, emotional and verbal expression!

This spring, it’s all about the new beginnings, believing in yourself and the whimsical world of the Commedia dell’Arte. Whether your loved one/s want to expand their expressive powers, or explore the Theatrical world of the Commedia, we have the Acting/Theatre Arts Classes to suit your fancy! Register today and give the gift of confidence with expression through fun Acting Classes with Theatre A Go-Go.

THURSDAY EVENING ACTING CLASSES

WHO: Ages 13-17

WHAT: THE ART OF THE COMMEDIA DELL’ARTE - Imagine the market places of Italy in the 1520’s where Zanni characters wearing half masks improvised and dominated European Theatre. The Commedia dell’Arte has been and always will be the first of the Theatre Arts. Nowadays we draw from its history to maintain its presence in modern Physical Theatre and Improvisation. In a series of fun-filled Acting classes, players will begin with self-development drama activities in order to expand their vocal and body expressive tools. Players will then learn the basic techniques actors use in creating Commedia dell’ Arte: Improvisation, Slapstick Comedy, status, and Masked Characterization. With a new sense of body and vocal confidence, players will express their character and the style of Theatre by creating and presenting a Commedia scenario on the last day of the Program. This Celebration of Learning is for friends, family and anyone who would like to see how we play.
